RENN Intelligence is a personal dashboard app that shows your calendar, tasks, and a few other everyday details in one place. This page explains what information RENN accesses, how it's used, and the choices you have.
RENN uses Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. You pick either one, and you can later connect the other from the app's menu. There is no separate RENN password or account system. If you sign in with Google, RENN requests permission to:
If you sign in with Apple, RENN receives only what Apple's Sign in with Apple provides (your name and either your real or Apple-relayed email address); RENN does not connect to any other Apple account data.
RENN only requests the access needed for these features, and nothing more. RENN Intelligence's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your calendar and task data is used exclusively to power your own RENN dashboard, showing your schedule, deadlines, and to-dos back to you. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties except as described below.
When you use RENN's quick-add, task-add, or chat features, the text you type (and, where relevant, a short snippet of your existing schedule needed to understand your request) is sent to our AI language model provider (Anthropic) solely to interpret your request, for example turning "lunch with Sam Friday at noon" into a real calendar event. If you tap "Report" on an AI response, that one input/output pair is stored so we can review it; otherwise, chat text is not retained after your request is handled.
If you choose a weather location, that city/place name is sent to Open-Meteo (a public weather data provider) to fetch current conditions; no continuous or background location tracking is used, only the place you explicitly pick. If you choose a news source or follow a sports team, that preference is used only to fetch public headlines or schedule data from the relevant provider (e.g. the BBC, NYT, ESPN) for your dashboard. If you log a meal, the food name you search is sent to the USDA FoodData Central database to look up its nutrition info. If you add a calendar-feed link (for Deadlines), RENN's server fetches that link on your behalf to read event data from it.
If you enable notifications, RENN stores a device push token (provided by Apple) so it can send you reminders, including upcoming calendar events, deadlines, gameday scores, and starred-email alerts, through Apple's push notification service.
RENN Intelligence requires a paid subscription (monthly or annual), handled entirely through Apple's In-App Purchase system. RENN never sees or stores your payment card details; Apple handles billing directly. RENN's server stores only your subscription status, plan, renewal date, and Apple's transaction identifier, so it can confirm your access is active. If you redeem or share a promo/referral code, RENN stores which code was used and by whom, solely to apply the correct bonus to the right account.
Your account information, connected Google credentials, subscription status, and preferences (location, news source, followed teams, dashboard layout) are stored with our database provider (Supabase) and encrypted at rest. Access is limited to what RENN's backend needs to operate, and enforced at the database level so your data is only ever readable by you. Our servers and the third-party services listed above are located in the United States. If you use RENN from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection rules than your own country.
The data RENN accesses through Google Calendar, Google Tasks, and Gmail (starred messages) is sensitive, and we treat it that way at every layer:
We keep your account data for as long as your RENN account is active, so the app keeps working the way you've set it up. If you request deletion (see "Your choices" below), we delete your account and associated data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep certain records longer (for example, transaction records Apple requires for tax or fraud purposes) or where data has already been anonymized or aggregated so it no longer identifies you.
RENN does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and has not done so in the past 12 months. If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we've collected about you, request its deletion, and request correction of inaccurate information; the "Your choices" section above is how to exercise these rights. We won't discriminate against you for exercising them.
If you're located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing; again, the email below is how to reach us for any of these. Where we rely on your consent (for example, sending your quick-add/chat text to Anthropic), you can withdraw that consent at any time from within the app. Where we rely on our legitimate interest in operating RENN's core features, you can ask us about that processing at any time.
RENN is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn a child under 13 has created an account, we'll delete it.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant enough to matter, we'll also ask you to re-acknowledge it the next time you open RENN, the same way you accepted it the first time.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to rennintelligence@gmail.com.
